I have worked with McDonald Contracting on both large and small projects. The best part of the process is the communication. They are responsive to our questions and always do the right thing. Their jobsite is clean with attention to detail. All of the tradesman have been a pleasure and have done impeccable work. A company with integrity is hard to come by these days. This family business is a gold standard. I continue to recommend McDonald Contracting for projects big and small. Thank you Ed, James, and Jared.

We worked with McDonald Contracting to finish our 1200 square foot basement in Arlington. From the start, the team was professional, gave us reasonable estimates and details about project scope, and even helped with design suggestions. From there, the project commenced and over time, the team transformed our basement into a very nice livable space that was exactly what we were planning. Special thanks for Shawn's excellent project management which helped move the project forward. In the end, we ended up with a home theater, a gym, flex room, and storage. We installed mini-splits, relocated some plumbing, and did a vast amount of electrical work. The team took direction and was able to adjust details on the fly.

McDonald Contracting put in a new garage floor in my 100-year-old garage, and did a great job. Prior to them doing the work, every time it rained, the garage floor flooded, because the neighbor's paved area was banked up against my garage and water was running down between their paved area and my garage. Plus the old concrete was all broken and heaved up throughout the garage. McDonald Contracting subbed the job out to Everstone, who did an unbelievably amazing job. They did the garage paving and also carefully dug out a trench between the neighbor and my garage (thanks to my neighbor for agreeing to this), waterproofed the garage wall, and replaced the neighbor's pavers so they looked better than they had before. Jason, from Everstone, did the majority of the work. He was a hard worker, incredibly reliable and responsible, and did everything perfectly, as well as being easy to communicate with and showing up when he said he would. I can't thank McDonald and Everstone enough for doing such a great job. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Our project came out great! Our contractor Mike always did what was best for us and the house. All the workers were professional and considerate. They worked with an engineer to fix our wet crawlspace. All new beams and joists and insulation. So much better now. Highly recommend. Thanks yall.

McDonald recently completely an 8 month renovation/addition project that was on time and on budget! Ed, our project manager Shawn, and the rest of the crew were great to work with. They were very communicative and they listened to and addressed all of our concerns throughout the project. They worked extremely well with our architect.

McDonald Contracting did a complete renovation of our ancient second floor bathroom and added a completely new first floor lavatory. Their work was quick, efficient and far above average in quality. McDonald employees and subcontractors were very easy to work with and immediately addressed any issues and questions we had. They were also exceedingly clean. I felt like I was in very good hands and would have no hesitation hiring them again.

We worked with McDonald on a large project (~7 months) after buying a new home. They built a new bath and office, made the basement useable, updated another bath, painted and stained everything, did built-in bookshelves and some other custom projects like dog-proofing the fence and adding gates to the front porch so we could keep said dog out of the road, redid the electrical systems and added central air. Like I said, big project. From the outset, they made us far more comfortable than any other contractor we talked to, in large part due to Ed McDonald making sure the quote was comprehensive such that we knew every element of what would need to happen. There were a few hiccups along the way, which I think is inevitable for a project of this scope, but at the end of everything we have a house we love and a contractor we’d come back to. Whenever an issue did come up, we were able to quickly discuss and make a plan to get to where we needed. They were more than fair on cost and left us with a great final product. We particularly loved the folks who worked on electrical, plumbing/HVAC, floors, and carpentry. Would recommend working with McDonald!

McDonald Contracting did a major renovation for us - 2nd floor gut renovation, addition of two rooms, plus exterior insulation and re-siding of the entire house. While it took a little longer than expected, it turned out great. We've been very happy with the results. We really appreciated the transparency in their pricing quote which was reasonable given the scope of our project. They are very friendly, easy to work with, and their plumbing, electrical, and tiling subs do high quality work.

I've used McDonald Contracting for the past few years for snow removal. The team really goes above and beyond - Ed always texts to see if I need snow removal, and sends a team out in a timely manner. The teams are excellent - efficient, effective, and they do a much better job of clearing snow than I could ever do. I plan to continue working with McDonald Contracting now and in the future.

We had an excellent experience working with McDonald Contracting from start to finish.They built new cabinets and a beautiful bar area, created a custom closet and bench, and also added new electrical outlets and light fixtures throughout our space. The entire process was seamless and professional — communication was clear, timelines were respected, and everything was handled with care. Most importantly, the craftsmanship was truly outstanding.
